livenletfly 0 #1 July 2, 2005 jumped my new velo96 today. its an amazing canopy. sweet soft openings, killer dives and lots o lift! im posting to say what a great stepping stone the vengeance was. i have 600 jumps on my previous canopy a veng 120. the flight characteristics are very similar. i actually was suprised how comfortable i felt flying my velo for the first time. anyone else go from a veng to a velo? i>
hkf 0 #2 July 2, 2005 I borrowed a 96 last week, and have to say it was totally awesome, the biggest difference from my katana 107 was the responsivness to harness input. The way it would dive and pick up serious speed just from going from half brakes to full drive was crazy. I have about 20 jumps on a vengeance, and thought it was great, although I think the Katana is much closer to the Velo. My velo96 will be on it's way soon!!! speedy 0 #3 July 2, 2005 Quoteanyone else go from a veng to a velo? Well sort of, I owned a vengeance 120 and the next canopy I owned was a velocity 90. But... I also did a load of jumps on a nitro 88, blade 88, vx 99 before I started on the velo. I borrowed the other canopies. I am surprised that you say the Velo flight characteristics are similar to a vengeance. I found the velocity extreme compared to the Vengeance, extreme diving, extreme speed and extreme sink rate. But about the openings, your are right that they are similar, both canopies I find are unpredictable in their openings. By the way, I'm in love with my velocity also. Be careful with your new baby though, it may bite your ass. Dave Fallschirmsport Marl
livenletfly 0 #4 July 3, 2005 dont get me wrong, the velo is definatly way more canopy all around. the veng is alot like a little brother. other than the sink factor the feel very similar as far as front riser turns, and pressure. the velo also has twice the lift during flare. the only other canopy ive flown is the crossfire 2. this i felt was very different from the veng. but i liked it so much i ordered a crssfr2 99 for my camera jumps. velo is a little two sensitive to body position for a camera suit and a bunch of shit on my helmet. thanks for the heads up. i wil be very careful. peace j>
rsein 0 #5 July 3, 2005 anyone else go from a veng to a velo? ***Quote Yes, I had a Veng 120, 107 and 97 before buying a Velo 90 (flew a 103 and 96 a few times before getting the 90) The Veng. was the most similar to the Velo out of the canopies I have tried. I'm also in love with the canopy. It's the best purchase i've made...no doubt!Be safe and enjoy! HISPA #
 flipper 0 #6 July 4, 2005 yep ... Veng 120 / 107 ...for maybe a few hundred jumps then onto a Velo
 kaerock 1 #7 July 6, 2005 I've gone from a Samurai 105 to a Velo 96...let's just say the Samurai has some dearly missed qualities (on-heading openings and light riser pressure). I've had to learn to fly the harness a lot more and be more relaxed on openings. The bottom end lift is incredible and I'm amazed at how much I can slow the thing down. I'm happy :> -R You be the king and I'll overthrow your government. --KRS-ONE
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
