texas cpc meets

Recommended Posts

ok... I have heard a few things through the grapevine and I wanted to get things cleared up.

since Dallas is NOT hosting the 3rd meet I am under the impression that we will be having the next meet at gladewater. My question is this: Is the next meet at gladewater on the date that was scheduled for Dallas? I heard that there might only be 4 meets and we were going to skip the dallas meet all together (date and location).

if anyone (aka levin) knows whats happening please let the rest of us know..

thanks

I hope Levin doesn't mind this.

He posted this message on CP.com
"Since Dallas has decided to cancel there meet and wait and see how the others go, Lake Gladewater is now Meet #3. Skydive Spaceland will remain Meet #5. That means sometime in between July 10th and August 21, we need to schedule a swoop comp. And i'm going to SkyFest so that weekend is not an option nor is having a comp during SkyFest. Waller is not an option for reasons I don't feel like rehashing. I have really enjoyed the meets at Skydive Aggieland. But since we have already had 2 meets there this year I am in favor of a different location. I think the best choice for the next Meet #4 would be San Marcos. What do yall think? "

I cut some stuff out, but that is the general idea.:D

Never look down on someone, unless they are going down on you.

Occupation: Home Husband

Actually I got a job back in January. I don't do much but sit infront of two computers. It allows me to post whore quite a bit. Being un-employed was a little nicer though.

By the way, are you coming out to Colorado to swoop in Sep? Don't let Ian and I take all your prize money.

hey yoshi,

the next meet is at gladewater on july 10th. since the meet at dallas has been cancelled i am going to the casa boogie at eagle flight that same weekend. there is a hidden texas cpc forum on canopypiloting.com for texas cpc members and judges. that is the more appropriate place for this discussion. most everybody in the loop should be able to view that forum now. however i still need usernames for aggiedave and jason lemley.

OH SNAP!!!

By the way have you seen the announcement of the schedule for the cpc nats. It's out on jims website on the main page under the news and announcements. There is also an announcement saying that the pro competitors will beable to compete in the CPC Nats. I'm just waiting for clarification on weather we will be directly competing with the pro's or if there will be seperate classes.

Here's the actual announcement:
The Pro Tour and the Canopy Piloting Circuit have announced they will allow all "Pro" Pilots who are qualified with the PST to attend the "GOFAST! CHALLENGE" events surrounding the CPC Championships scheduled for September in Denver, Colorado. The top five finishers of each district in the CPC "S-class" will get a invite to compete for the title of CPC Champion. The total cash purse for the competition is $18,000

Grant
By the way Ian, I saw your signature line. I changed mine accordingly.

yes, we will be directly competeing against them but the your placement stands only against other cpc pilots. so if you take 10th but your the first cpc pilot then you get 10th place for the meet but 1st place in the cpc ranking. im just wondering if we have our own class for prize money? or are the pros going to try and take it?... in that case forget you guys i need to train hard to beat them to get the money!B|

That's what I was wondering about too, but it's not all about the money! I used to think it was all about the money until I won my first swoop comp for money. I won $7 at a swoop club for first place at Eloy in the intermediate division one weekend. Then I learned there is much more to it than just the money. After the comp I took my $7 plus $2 of my own and went and dried off and bought two beers plus tip at the bentprop saloon. Those frosty Sam Adams never tasted so good. :D
