Emmie 0 #1 November 29, 2002 Hi I'm just getting into freeflying. Christmas is coming up, and I'm thinking about getting either a freefly suit or freefly pants. I was wondering if anyone could tell me of the advantages one has over the other. What would you reccomend i get? Up to now I just used tight jeans and a baggy longleaved shirt, but since I wont have to pay for it I might as well get some freefly gear. Thanks for your help. Pants are cheaper, but as it's a pressie.... ----------------------------------- It's like something out of that twilighty show about that zone
 PhreeZone 20 #3 November 29, 2002 Go for the 2 piece option. I had a one piece suit that I used for a year. Then I got a 2 piece suit. Its so nice having the same pants on and jumping in a t shirt this load, tacking on the top the next, taking the top off to pack and talk for a while then deciding what is best for the next jump. With a one piece suit its easy to cook in it on hot days and if you take it off you either have to go find jeans again or jump in shorts. Thats slightly different things to adjust on and its a pain while learning to always have to adjust. Also tying the arms around your waist can some times get in the way while packing. I wore my Firefly pants for 7 days straight at WFFC and it was so nice to have that constant drag factor and only have to adjust for tshirt/top (I had a camera top so it was more tshirt/long sleeve shirt) My opinion is go 2 piece... and check out FireFly's suits since they have some really cool designs and the Support is way cool. They talked to me for 35 minutes on a possible problem with the suit and how I fly. Turns out 30 seconds on the sewing machine and it was fixed.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
 ColdDuck 0 #4 November 29, 2002 I also recommend a Firefly suit. The two piece suit looks pretty cool, seeing as how you're not paying for it thats what I would get. I would stay away from having red and white colors on your suit though. My Firefly jumpsuit has red which turned all the white pink. I have tried many different things to correct the problem. Sherry from Firefly has always been helpful and we are working the problem out. Their customer service is fantastic. Despite the problem with my suit, I will still buy their jumpsuits. The problem with jsut getting pants is that there is this overwhealming desire among people to put in freefly pants and a tshirt and then to try and learn to sit. This is GREAT for HD, but leaning to sit, you want MORE drag on your arms and (possibly)LESS on your legs (hence the wings & spandex on a sit suit). So all the people trying to learn to sit like this are making it harder on themselves. The 1 Piece is a good all-around, but the 2piece will allow you to custom things any way that you need. You really shouldn't go out in just freefly pants until you're flying headdown. Landing without injury is not necessarily evidence that you didn't fuck up... it just means you got away with it this time
 bobsoutar 0 #9 December 2, 2002 My sit improved drastically when I got a suit. Keeps everything inside and away from handles too. A 2-piece would probably be even better but the manufacturer didn't do them at the time I ordered. Just get a sweatshirt and sweatpants to learn... You can wear tighter pants to learn to sit easier, and just a t-shirt with baggy sweatpants to learn headdown easier. suits are nice and warm, but annoying (to me anyway) to pack when still wearing... I have pants too, which i mostly only wear for headdown dives and are comfy to pack in. if you don't have to pay for it, try to get a sweet 2-piece suit. wish i knew that Santa Claus.
