rocketfeuille 0 #1 November 25, 2002 Hey everybody- I'm thinking about buying a Bonehead Boomerang... Has anyone tried one on or own one? Any reviews would be very appreciated. Thanks.
CanuckInUSA 0 #2 November 25, 2002 I have one and I took off the visor and use googles because I found the visor (which is fixed) fogged up on me too much. I think it is a goofy looking full face (compared to some of the other full faces out there), but it's a light weight free fly friendly helmet. It also has an internal port for a ProTrack. So if you're into free flying and you want a full face, then this is likely a good choice. But if you're an RW type of jumper, get something else. Scoby 0 #3 November 25, 2002 How easy is it to fit goggles while wearing it? What sort of goggles do you use? I tried one on and I thought of doing the same thing you did. I'd certainly like the chin protection, but I don't know about the face shield.
AggieDave 6 #4 November 25, 2002 Do a quick search of the forums, you'll find a couple discussions about them, I like them and have talked about them in past threads. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." I have no problem fitting my goggles (Lane Goggles if I'm not mistaken) under the Boomerang. Besides looking like a goof (Boneheads seem to do that to some people), I'm fairly happy with my Boomerang now that I've taken the fixed visor off. AggieDave 6 #6 November 25, 2002 There's a guy at my DZ who used window tint to tint the lens of his Boomerang, he looks like a Star Wars extra when he's jumping... Another guy uses Sorz goggles and a different one just wears his sunglasses (both have the visor taken off).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." sar911 0 #7 November 25, 2002 I love mine. If you use the anti-fog solution that comes with the helmet it doesn't fog even in the Florida heat. There is also a half lens for freefly available from Bonehead. Also a replacement lens is only $12.00.
drenaline 0 #8 November 26, 2002 I like my boomerang is very comfortable and lets alot of air in, contrary to other comments mine never fogs, but for the "just in case" I use the antifog solution every 10 jumps and just a couple of drops (hope it doesnt' expires). I use mine on RW, thanks to it I still have my chin (long story on a side note, I think that bonehead stoped making the half lens, if am not mistaken you can still find some of them in some stores (square one I think that has them). AggieDave 6 #9 November 26, 2002 Bonehead did stop making the "swoop lens" which was the half-lens, but will make one if you ask.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
