Canuck 0 #4 February 17, 2005 Holy shit! There is something to be learned from that swoop. Look how early he transitions to the toggles and how much of the swoop distance is accomplished once in deep brakes. So many people stay on the rears until their canopy is bagged right out and then hit the toggles. So impressive! Canuck

Jskydiver22 0 #7 February 17, 2005 Yeah i noticed that too....i always figured that staying on rears as long as you could would result in a much longer swoop. I was really suprised to see how far he went in deep toggles! That was REALLY AWESOME! --I don't even know enough to know that I dont know--
skydiven4fun 0 #8 February 17, 2005 Very Very Nice, I am amazed at the amount of distance covered in deep breaks.Still here after all these years Clayton
hkf 0 #9 February 17, 2005 Don't think it was that round, but heard in one of the distance rounds he pulled out on brakes then went to rears, and then back to brakes!

grega 0 #11 February 18, 2005 And why the hell did he pop up at the beginnig of the swoop? Was he a little too deep in the corner or ... ? Because as far as i know gaining height means loosing power and speed...? Or is there something i'm missing?"George just lucky i guess!"
AggieDave 6 #12 February 18, 2005 As I understand it, he popped up so to use some of the power he had after hitting the gates to gain some altitude to give him more room between the earth and his feet for a longer distance. Pop too hard and you don't go as far, pop too little and you don't go as far...do it just right and you're Jonathan Tagle setting a new record.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Gafneyjr 0 #16 February 18, 2005 Wow! great swoop. And you can see he still has his bag and pilot chute attached. Check how excited Shannon gets when he sees JT cruise by. Shannon had just broken the record. And 20 minutes before that Bruno brokken had broken the record - all on PD Velocities. Way to go JT.

Jethers203 0 #23 August 23, 2005 What am I missing. Below is an article from the PD website about the record. It says it was Jay Moledski. Am I missing something or did they forget to put Jonathan's name in it. ------------------------------------------- PD Article On the first round of distance at the PST Swoop Festival in Chicago Jay Moledzki broke the former world record held by team mate Jonathan Tagle by 13ft from 494ft to 507ft the second round yielded a slight head wind holding Jay back just slightly with a swoop in the high 450ft range, but come the third round the conditions were in his favor with a light 2-3 mph cross to down wind breeze and a super powerful approach leading him to his second world record in just one day with an astounding 522.2ft. "I felt confident coming into this event that if the conditions were favorable I would have a good shot at breaking Jonathan's record." "The wind was light and variable all day witch made for tricky conditions and last minute decisions regarding setting up for the gate." "After committing to my approach and powering for the gate I felt a sigh of relief and let out a big WOOOHOOOO! just as I passed the entrance", "I knew I was going downtown" " I got a little more lift than I expected but it payed off in the end and I was glad that I stopped when I did because there was only a few feet of grass left before meeting the tar mack" " I love my 103 Velocity it just keeps going and going and going..." --------------------------------------------------- Please tell me, I know how to read. Doesn't it say Jay Moledski broke the record??? Clint D-24352
