Yoshi 0 #1 October 25, 2004 ok just thought I would share... sunday morning I pulled off the sickest of swoops I have done to date... it was fairly early in the morning so the grass was still nice and slick from the dew on the ground... no wind, and I was flying my crossfire 2 111 loaded at about 1.8 or so... I actually accomplished (and stood up) and LAZY BOY GHOST RIDER!!! (for those who dont know what it is: durring the swoop my feet were out in front of me and I was sliding across the ground looking up at my canopy in a laid back position... I then released the toggles and risers so I didnt have anything in my hands...then I reached back up to grab my rear risers to pull myself back up enough to get my feet back underneath myself for landing) I am still totally stoked from it. I dont have any stills, but I have video... I dont know how to put it on here or I would, just to share.. ok so thats all just had to toot my own horn a little. -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent. AggieDave 6 #2 October 25, 2004 So you're getting ready for Sunday huh? I'm trying to as well, except the recovery arc on my canopy is different compared to what it was a month ago (before I took a break due to surgery) and now tossing a 270 at the normal altitude gives me nothing but a highspeed flyby like Mavrick. Hopefully I'll get that figured out this week so I'm ready. If not there will be some funny video and a lot of laughs on my expensence on Sunday...and you'll be tossing mad freestyle tricks.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." psuCory 0 #5 October 25, 2004 QuoteIf not there will be some funny video and a lot of laughs on my expensence on Sunday... Hey man, don't worry about that one at all... I've got last place all wrapped up . This little adventure is more about fun and learing than "winning", at least on my end. So... in one weekend I'll take a first place (thanks to a wonderfully fun 4-way team) on Saturday, and an ego destroying, and probably soaking, last place on Sunday. Oh, and Yoshi.. dude that was a sick landing. If you want it converted to a web friendly version just let me know and we can take care of it this week. -CK
AggieDave 6 #6 October 25, 2004 Probably Sat night late, after a full day of jumping at Aggieland. Morgan will probably be with me so we'll be in the truck. Yall partying sat night, right? So there'll be beer and fun when we show up I hope?--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Yoshi 0 #7 October 26, 2004 yeah...the warm weather does help a bunch to stay current and practice over water without the fear of getting wet and going into hypothermia come and visit soon! -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent. Yoshi 0 #8 October 26, 2004 yeah there is a costume party sat night...bonfire out by the swoop ditch and pond.. unfortunately I work sat night (bartending until about 3:30am) so I wont be there late... that will be great.. swoop comp with 3 hours of sleep! -cory: yeah I would like to make it web friendly so I can post it on here for peeps to check it out and to show my brother... and I wouldnt claim last place just yet... you never know ...hell Ill probably chow a couple rounds...and I may even bust on the freestyle round for trying to go a little too big... (hmmmmm should I play it safe with a superman??? perhaps go a bit bigger with a superman ghost rider??? or pull out all the stops and go for the blind man finishing with a 360 (full line twist) or attemp a never before seen freestyle move I had a dream about???) guess we will just have to wait and see... -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent. jose 0 #9 October 26, 2004 If there is no video, it didn't happen. Prove it.
psuCory 0 #10 October 26, 2004 Hmm going big eh.... Yep, yep... definatly need video . Let's see, you could (after saying, "Hey yall watch this" of course) spin a 630, flip backwards, hooking your lines with your feet (wouldn't be the first time ya' tried 1 way CRW ) and perform a mad hand drag... the entire distance of the ditch. Easy right? Hehehehehheehh.... Myself? I'll be happy to make 3 of 4 gates (having 30 to 40 jumps on the Xaos... hehehhe... yea right), and keeping a reserve repack for more than 60 days . Yoshi 0 #11 October 26, 2004 there is video... cory will have to make it web friendly this weekend...along with a few clips from the comp on sunday....might even get a good chow or two... cory... you going to jump the xaos or your old canopy durring the comp??? just curious -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent. psuCory 0 #12 October 26, 2004 I'm still not sure about it. My choice depends upon availability to an extent. If the Xaos is in use on Saturday (it's owner will also be flying video for TSL), then I'll hook up and stay with the old canopy. Last time I went back to the other canopy it took half a day's worth of jumps to force myself to turn low enough . But once I get everything sorted out, the old one can really be made to perform. Something I can't say about the Xaos yet.
