kai2k1 0 #1 September 13, 2004 Awhile ago it was brought up to me that i should start flying ZP canopies, but im facing quite a dilema. My container is very tight with my PD 190 (F111) with a pack volume of 442cc. I checked into a ZP 190 (all the brands) and It wouldnt fit into my container if I tried. So here's my dilema, Should I downsize to a 170 ZP or stay with the F111 material. I have just started to learn to really fly the 190 and have put about 30 Jumps on it. Im still running out my landings and rarely biff them in anymore. Honestly, I dont think Im ready to downsize to a 170 and move over to a ZP canopy in the same step. Could someone give me some advice on what to do? There's no truer sense of flying than sky diving," Scott Cowan

You answered your own question, buddy. Self preservation, ain't it grand? If you don't think you're ready, stay right where you are. Fast 0 #5 September 13, 2004 Is the F111 canopy that your flying in good condition? Too many jumps? Ragged out? I watched a person jump a canopy that was the "right" size but old and ragged out for a whole summer and have really crappy landings. Couldn't fit a same sized ZP in the container she had. She then made some jumps on borrowed gear that wasn't so abused. Sold her canopy and container and got something that would hold a ZP canopy that she was comfortable with. If your canopy is in good shape and has decent flight characteristics then this isn't an issue. If its old and abused maybe it is. It seems that if people are telling you that you should start flying something ZP maybe your gear is a bit old? Demoing or borrowing some gear might help you get a better feel for this.~D Where troubles melt like lemon drops Away above the chimney tops That's where you'll find me. kai2k1 0 #6 September 13, 2004 Thanks fast, It is in good condition, less than 300 jumps on it and the lines look pretty new. It handles like a dream, very respoonsive and still has alot of flare.
