sangiro 26 #1 November 17, 2002 Heya all, I've created a Stolen and Lost Gear Database for Dropzone.com. I'm hoping this will help a few people find their stuff and make life miserable for gear thieves. Anyone registered Dropzone.com user can list a stolen item. Read the Listing Guidelines before you list and item. I'm hoping we can get information about stolen or lost gear out to a broad audience as quickly as possible. Riggers and DZO's should consider subscribing to receive the Email Updates. This will email any new listings to you on a daily basis. You will not receive and email on days when there are no new listings. You can also click on the "Full List" link on the database page and print out a summary of the entire content of the database to post at your DZ or keep in your gear bag. Everyone in the market for second-hand gear, check the database before you buy. http://www.dropzone.com/stolen/ I'm hoping to extend the database in the future to enable you to register your gear (even if it's not stolen or lost) to create an online record of all your gear, serial numbers etc. Feel free to add your lost items. Hope this helps. Safe swoops Sangiro
PhreeZone 20 #2 November 17, 2002 Quick question... the recieve email updates, does this go to the regested address in the profile or the one that we choose to have visible? Or does it go to our DZ.com address? VERY COOL of you to create this service Sangiro!!!Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
sangiro 26 #3 November 17, 2002 Phree, It goes to the email address in your on your Dropzone.com Full profile. Here's a little "work-around" though if you want it to go somewhere else (or want it to go to a second, or third address as well): - Log out of Dropzone.com. - Go to the Stolen and Lost Gear email update subscribe page - You'll notice it now asks for your name and email address - Fill in whatever you want and wherever you want the email to go - Go back and repeat if you want to add more email addresses - You'll have to log in again before you can list an itemSafe swoops Sangiro

ernokaikkonen 0 #8 November 18, 2002 Did you read the "listing guidelines"? Quote All lisings are validated before added to the database. After hitting submit it can take up to 24 hrs for your item to appear in the database.
sangiro 26 #9 February 24, 2003 Folks, A quick reminder: If you're a rigger, check out the Stolen Gear database . There are 65 items listed already. Print out this screen and check the serial numbers when you receive gear to work on. On the Stolen Gear main page there's a search function where you can type a serial number or part thereof and see if it's listed as stolen. Also, consider subscribing to the newsletter so we can send you updates when additional items are listed as stolen. Safe swoops Sangiro
