Or does the filter need changing everytime you chow? Are spare filters readily available. Not planning on makin a habit of swimmin, just like to know before i purchase one. Spizzzarko 0 #3 September 16, 2004 I believe the manual states that the filter needs to be replaced every time the unit comes in contact with water. A new unit comes with an extra replacable filter, and your rigger can get these from airtec. Ask the knowledgable folks in the gear and rigging forum, they won't lead you astray. ibx 2 #5 September 20, 2004 Hy, I had the luck to meet Helmut Klothe the inventer of the cypres, on a saftey seminar here in Germany( he startted out skydiving in the club where I started as well). He told us, that the reason they want you to the change the filter every time is because water contains lots of little dirt partikels you can hardly see. These could influence the air pressure reading. And Airtec is always on the safe side. Landing in a mucked up swoop pond could probably clutter up your filter, resulting in innacurate readings. So changing it every time is probably a good idea. Just to keep it safe.

ibx 2 #9 September 24, 2004 Quote What's that then? The BPA requires you to repack your reserve every six months whereas german associations require it yearly. So you can jump everywehere in Germany except for Bad Lipp(It's run by the british army). Getting a repack just to jump in there is a tad expensive... Cloggy 1 #11 September 24, 2004 Could be worse (or better?? ). Repack every 4 months in Belgium. Or apparently 120 days in the US.
