StearmanR985 0 #26 June 14, 2004 QuoteHi Jeff, Quoteif I am too high what do you think about purposely over turning a bit then using the other front to get back on line? While it initially seems like a good idea, it's actually quite inefficient. Remember the less distortion of the wing the better, not to mention you're now also going against momentum by changing the wing direction. Jim Slaton had a good tip on not forcing a bad situation. You can recover some of the excessive altitude by using both fronts, but I'd advise against counter rotating, not only for loss of performance but also traffic consideration factors. The best approach would be continuously evaluating your altitude as you did the turn and extending or shortening the turn speed to keep you in the correct altitude for that part of the turn. Sometimes we're just too high. Better to go and try again than force a situation. Blues, Ian Hey Ian, I tried both of these techniques out this past week and guess what? It worked right from the start!! Not only was I able to hit the mark but had some good canopy speed as well (again, for a Tri that is). I have also begun to incorprate harness input as well. Now I know a Tri doesn't respond too well to harness input but it does make a little difference, and it is fun too. I am having a blast!! I have only been able to get a 20 to 30 foot surf (knees/toes scraping the grass kind of thing) out of this thing but intend to keep working on it. I wanted to thank you for your advice. ianmdrennan 2 #27 June 14, 2004 Hi Jeff, Woohoo!!! QuoteI have only been able to get a 20 to 30 foot surf That's all good. It'll get longer as you get more efficient with your wing. For now, just keep learning and having fun. QuoteI wanted to thank you for your advice. Absolutely anytime. Keep working at it slowly and with respect and it'll just keep getting better and better. If you manage to get some vid of your landings, I'd love to see how you're doing. Stay safe. Blues, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
