fundgh 0 #1 June 7, 2004 I am currently Demoing a Sabre 2 150, and normally fly a Sabre 150. This is what I thought of the weekend jumping it... It opens weird - off heading, end cells closed, slider half way up, etc. It Does open soft thoughIt is nice to fly and seemed a little flatter than my sabre, but I didn't notice anything too drastic. landing was nice. I did like the way it planed out and flared, but I didn't notice all that much difference from the way I land my Sabre. I only have 160 jumps, so my experience is limited, but I thought that I was due for an upgrade. I learned this weekend I can but another 100-200 jumps on my current canopy, then make a bigger change than S1 to S2. Just my $.02 David...FUN FOR ALL! Kris 0 #2 June 8, 2004 I demo'd one while my Stiletto was in the shop last fall getting repaired. I was toying around with getting one to put into a Birdman specific rig. The flight and flare were remarkably better than my old first-gen Sabre, but I hated the openings on the Sabre2 and I've read more than one report of squirrelly openings with them. I got 180 off-headings and non-symmetrical collapsed end-cells on more then one jump with it, but I did get a couple of nice openings once I started barely quartering the slider and loosely wrapping the tail. They were always soft though. In the end, I ended up using my regular rig with my Stiletto. The openings have always been on-heading and quite predictable (except for one hard opening that was due to a trim issue) and I've had no problems using it for BirdMan. Now, that is in no way an endorsement for you to go out and try a Stiletto. I'm just relating my experience with the Sabre2. If you're happy with your Sabre, then keep on truckin'. It may be old but it's still a nice wing if you have one that opens nice. Learn to wring the piss out of it and dominate it. My rigger can still go coast-to-coast with a first-gen Sabre on a swoop pond.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
