I went back and looked and see that you did not start the thread but regardless of how it started you seem to have become the focus. I am not a canopy nazi by any streach but I will stick to what I posted before based on a number of years of experience and seeing lots of people go through progressions and some of them get hurt.

You really need to take the advice from others and you say you do but I dont see it here at all. There are a number of people that are posting with lots of experience and you seem to be blowing them off because you dont like what they are saying. Seeing that is what made me write what I did.

You do say you listen but from the reactions you toss out as responses from seemingly good advice, I am curious who you listen to. I dont think that 80 jumps and a 1.6 load is going to be suggested by anyone????

I hope you learn and dont get hurt but I would take the "under" bet on this one for the long run. And I still stick to what I wrote based only on the your tone in this thread...

I don't remember blowing people off, if I did, I didn't mean to. I listen to what you guys are saying, and I apriciate everybody's input. All that said mad me to be even more concerned with safety. There is risk i am willing to take and there is somethings that I will not do at this point, but again I am very conserned with safety.

I know that somebody will say: "If you were thinking about safety, you would not jump that canopy." But what I mean is how to do safely what I am doing right now and learn more.

Thank ya all.

But, could we be dealing with a Troll? This is far too fantastical of a journey beyond the bounds of sanity to be real.

Unfortunately not. It's an all too real situation I assure you.

So why are you posting about learning headdown in another forum? How much altitude you getting that you can freefly and be open high? High a relative term, I guess. For me, some days high is 2200, but most it's 13k.

I asked ya earlier about your coaches or instructors. I guess by your lack of response either you're self-taught or they've got a dozen or so more jumps than you. Ugh.:|

Well, I think I'm done with this thread as soon as I say I love my Samurai!!! (which I got after 245 jumps and load it at 1.45 after two canopy control courses and a lot of canopy coaching).

Oh, one more thing, just in case: advance vibes to your family and others who care about you.

JP, when I just got this canopy you did not say anything about getting something twice as big, as the metter of fact, Marsel was the only person who told me to think about what I am doing.

1) You never asked, nor did I know anything about this gear prior to your purchase.

2) I did not sell it to you.

3) I did not say jump something twice as big, that would be a 240. I said get something two sizes bigger, about a 150.

Yuri, I really don't want to see ANYONE including you get hurt because they got bad advice, thought they HAD too look cool, or because no one talked to them about saftey.

If I had a 150 avaliable, I'd send it to you right away to use for a while. Unfortunately the biggest thing I own right now is a 134 Batwing.

Please be careful.

As for Marcell, I like him, but he would never listen to anyone, and the two people I saw him "coach" dispite being told not too both ended up with broken bones. Remember Amber?

I don't wanna sound ignorant, and don't wanna sound like hey, I am better then everybody else, and I am not. But every rule has an exception, even though I have <100 jumps I am pretty damn confident in what I am doing. I understand that number of jumps indicates a lot, but also there is always a chance that different people sometimes get to the same point in different time.
Plus I am not stupid and I am very concerned with safety. I have a lot of reasons to live and walk by myself.
The only thing I ask is don't judge me before you even know me, or at least saw me.

There was another guy around here who talked like you are now, Spy38W. Why don't you send him a PM, ask him about his experiences, the outcome, and what he's jumping now.

No, you aren't. It's apparent that you aren't concerned with your own safety, or the safety of those who jump with you.

The biggest problem, and it's common to almost EVERY young jumper, is that you have no idea how much you don't know.

Because I would like to learn how to do it.

I usually pul at 5.5 -5 grand.

I do not have a coach.

And I think it's enough already.

If it were not such a complete pain in the ass to do so, I would cut out all the crap by the antagonist in this thread and the responses to him and just leave the informative Samurai stuff. Unfortunately, I don't have the time so it's just easier to lock the thread and deal with it later.

Arrogance combined with lack of experience and a desire to be "cool" are the surest way to find yourself on the inside of an ambulance. All of us who have been skydiving for any length of time know the signs and, unfortunately, also know that some people will just never get it.
