garywainwright 0 #1 November 8, 2002 I was talking to a manufacturer who refuses to put chest rings on his rigs. He says that they promote off heading openings. Any thoughts??http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
nacmacfeegle 0 #2 November 8, 2002 Hey Gary, how are you keeping? I would suggest its not the rings that contribute here, but the body position. My logic would be that because the rings help the rig 'hug' your body more, the rig is more susceptible to reacting to an asymmetric body position. If you see what I mean. I suspect its a marginal difference though....-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. weid14 0 #3 November 8, 2002 QuoteI was talking to a manufacturer who refuses to put chest rings on his rigs. He says that they promote off heading openings. Any thoughts?? in my experience they don't -- the main harness is more flexible, the three rings want to stay level, the chest rings help that, if the three rings/links are level, in theory, your opening should have a better chance of being on heading. garywainwright 0 #5 November 8, 2002 I don't want to say. They are a very well respected European company (and no I don't work for them or jump any of their products!)http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk

Kirils 1 #7 November 8, 2002 I have jumped both style of rigs. The chest rings do make for a comfortable rig BUT if hip input to the canopy is important (like in swooping) the chest rings are an impediment."Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" Kris 0 #10 November 9, 2002 I have over 100 jumps on my Mirage G3 with the UNISYN harness. Those jumps were all on my Stiletto loaded just under 1.4:1. I have never had any problems with my openings. The few times I have had a couple of line twists was usually after a rushed pack job, or afterwards I found a couple of broken stows on my D-bag. I love my chest rings. ernokaikkonen 0 #12 November 12, 2002 I wouldn't think so, Parachutes de France offers chest rings as an option to their "Axis" model harness. Erno
kansasskydiver 0 #13 November 12, 2002 A guy at our DZ just got a new rig from Parachutes de France and he hasn't had any problems with his harness or openings. He loves it and i tried it on and was impressed as well, I don't have the balls to jump his Springel 120<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
garywainwright 0 #14 November 13, 2002 No they aren't french (I think there is a version of the atom with chest rings - perhaps a style version?)http://www.garywainwright.co.uk Instagram gary_wainwright_uk
