Wingtips vs. Scott Miller Essential Skills

Recommended Posts

Chris Lynch runs the 'Wingtips' seminars (primarily in the UK I believe) and Scott Miller runs the 'The Freedom of Flight' Essential Skills Course

Is there anyone who has attended both courses / seminars?

Would anyone like to comment on any similarities / differences?

I have not attented Chris Lynch's seminar, but I can say that the course run by Scott is extremely informative. I have done both his basic and advanced courses and have learned a lot from both of them.

If you're looking for a canopy course these is also this one coming up which I know I will be attending.

Thanks Gary

I maybe should have been a bit more specific...

I did the Scott Miller Essentials course whilst in Florida (5 jumps - with drills: flat turns / rear riser and toggle stalls / braked approach and landing / flat glides etc )

I was wonderering if / how Chris' differs and where I might slot in to the 'wingtips' to get some swooping coaching, rather than possibly repeat the basics that i have already done

Cheers

Do which ever you like, but if you do Scott's, talk to him about what you want to get out of the class. I wanted swoop coaching and he had me do 3 straight in approaches. My swoops were much better after that. He knows what he is doing. Tell him where you're at and he can hook you up.

I attended one of the first iterations of the Wingtips course with Chris in 2002. It was actually split into two, a basic course one day and then a more swoop orientated course the next. You needed to attend the first to take part in the second, unless you were known to Chris. Having said that, I'm sure he would accept attendance of an equivalent basic course. His course has evolved since I took it though so you'd probably be better off contacting the man himself. His new email address is gottaflychris (at) aol (dot) com
