yurbai 0 #1 December 8, 2003 Hey, did anyone ever jumped Onyx? if someone did, how is it comparing to VX or Xaos 27?
koz2000 1 #2 December 8, 2003 I'm pretty sure Ramon http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?username=ramon;guest=3550648 has and if has hasn't he can ask Eric Butts who is the cobalt test jumper in the photo of the onxy. Skymonkeyone (Mr. Blue) probably has jumped it as well. SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 December 9, 2003 I never saw a single Onyx prototype that didn't open like a bomb. I also never saw one that didn't have an incredibly short recovery arc. I never had cause to jump the canopy because none of the prototypes were nearly small enough for me. Hans Paulson jumped one for a while, plus several others, not affiliated with Atair, jumped it at Panama City, though it was not used in competition. That said, there is another company based right outside of Atlanta, GA that actually did some work on one of their canopies and produces one that uses the same bracing, but actually flies great. Joe Bennet at Skydive Monroe is jumping one right now and I was witness to it's performance.....Very impressive. I would not be surprised to see that canopy in full production much sooner than you are likely to see an Atair Onyx on your dropzone. Chuck
johnny1488 1 #5 December 9, 2003 Really, "the most advanced skydiving wing ever created?" I simply won't believe it. Must be any untra eloborate marketing strategy to REALLY get people to want to fly "the most advanced skydiving wing ever created." Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Couldn't have openings harder than warm butter!
 yurbai 0 #7 December 10, 2003 Thanx Guys!!!
