gus 1 #1 November 30, 2003 I had a demo Crossfire2 119 this weekend. I liked it, enough to think about buying one. Nice openings, fast toggles turns, felt solid in deep brakes. I was expecting it to dive alot more on the front risers so I kept setting up too high though . I wouldn't buy a 119 because it felt 'big' and (apart from the toggle turns) it didn't feel faster than my Sabre2 120 which leads me to my question: I loaded that 119 at 1.5, a 109 would be at 1.65 and a 99 would be at 1.8. Has anyone flown a range of sizes? Am I being stupid considering a 99? I wouldn't expect the 109 to be all that different, that's all. Something else to consider, at the sizes you're talking about, little drops in sq/footage can make a pretty substantial difference in performance. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. gus 1 #4 November 30, 2003 QuoteHow many jumps did you do on the 119? Only 3 (no jumping yesterday ) but opened high on all of them so I got plenty of time under canopy. GusOutpatientsOnline.com

Not sure how their demo program works in Europe, the 119 came from a UK dealer. That's what I'm trying to figure out. GusOutpatientsOnline.com
johnny1488 1 #6 December 1, 2003 I just went to a xfire2 141 loaded at 1.68 and it rocks. I was flying one loaded just under 1.4 and it did not have the dive I wanted. A 109 will give you the dive you want and more. A 99 is gonna be a huge jump. Try the 109 and I think you will have plenty to keep you busy (and happy) for good number of jumps. Xfires rock! Joris 0 #7 December 1, 2003 Hi Gus, ICARUS will recommend a wingload range from 1.6 up to 2.1 with an 'optimal' wingload of 1.7-1.8 on the Crossfire 2. This doesn't mean that you can't jump it below or above these wingloads (we know of pilots that are very happy with their Crossfires loaded at 1.4 and 2.3). Recommended wingload tells you with what wingload the canopy performs in the most optimal way looking at the different parameters. Since you're based in the UK you can best check with DZ Sports for demo availability. If you require any additional information don't hesitate to contact DZ Sports or me directly. blue skies, Joris van Drunen ICARUS CANOPIES EUROPEICARUS Canopies Europe c/ Valles s/n, El Ramassar 08520 Las Franquesas Barcelona, SPAIN
gus 1 #8 December 1, 2003 Hi Joris, Thanks for the info. Can I get a demo directly from you? The smallest DZ Sports has is the 119 I had this weekend. GusOutpatientsOnline.com
Joris 0 #9 December 1, 2003 Hi Gus, Are you planning to come to Empuriabrava at some point? We have our whole demo fleet permanently based at Empuria. There you can demo all models in almost all sizes. After the coming Xmas Boogie there might be a chance of getting the 109 to you since it will be pretty quiet at the DZ around that time. FredQ 0 #10 December 2, 2003 Hi Joris,Is Empuria the only place where it's possible to demo a Crossfire2 in Europe? Actually, I live in France (near Paris) and I need to replace my 10 years old BT pro 120 (loaded at 1.5) with something slightly faster. So I'm considering a Crossfire2 109, but I need to test one to ensure it's the right canopy and the right size I'm looking for.Are there some dealer with demo canopies in France? Is there some demo program?I was told that the policy of Icarus was to buy a canopy and have it exchanged/reimbursed if I'm not satisfied with the canopy model or size. Is it right? Thanks and blue skies,Fred

Im not speaking for Joris but, I've heard this a few times. That is just their guarantee on purchased canopies. They have demos all the time (at least What i've seen in the US) but Joris can set you up in Europe, Im sure. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" Joris 0 #12 December 3, 2003 Hi Fred, ICARUS Canopies is the only manufacturer that offers a '31-day satisfaction guarantee' on all its products! Eventhough, I'll check if there's a Crossfire 2 109 demo available in France for you at the moment. long swoops, Joris.ICARUS Canopies Europe c/ Valles s/n, El Ramassar 08520 Las Franquesas Barcelona, SPAIN
grega 0 #13 December 3, 2003 Talking about demoing icarus canopies... How much is it? is 31 days of demoing for free? well apart for the shipment which i'd pay off course? And would it be possible to send one demo crossfire 2 to Slovenia/europe? Or you don't send demo canopies abroad at all? Which sizes are your demo crossfires 2?"George just lucky i guess!" It really isn't a 31 day demo, it is a purchase. You buy the canopy (pay in full), and can be refunded if returned within 31 days. So, it seems like it would cost you no more than the shipping IF you return the canopy within 31 days. This is my understanding. Angela.
isaiah85 0 #15 December 7, 2003 the xf2 has higher riser presser than the saber2. I went from the saber2 to xf2 loaded at 1.5 and it took me about 70 jumps on the xf2 to get used to the presser. once you are used to it the canopy dives great. it is much faster than the saber2
