riggerrob 643 #1 October 20, 2003 After one of the driest summers on record, record rains in early October have refilled the swoop pond(s) at Pitt Meadows. Yesterday Paco demonstrated how NOT to swoop the pond. Fortunately J.P. caught him on video. Paco's reserve should be dry enough to repack this afternoon. Hah! Hah! Chrisky 2 #2 October 21, 2003 Saw and heard (the splash, that is) it... There should be at least two pics i shot of it with J.P.s camera; where are they? The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open. From the edge you just see more. ... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...
davelepka 4 #3 October 21, 2003 I think that if you don't get wet at least once a year, you're not trying hard enough. Actually, if you don't impact the water, but just come up short of making the other side, it's kinda fun. (This is the kind of landing I'm reffering to in the above statement, by the way). SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 October 21, 2003 Almost exactly one year ago a crowd of us met up in Cedartown, GA for the inaugural fall swoop meet. Every single one of us in the pro category got soaked in the 40 degree water at least once. It was the most miserable time I have ever had in my skydiving life, but the memories and stories about that meet will live on in infamy. Chuck
davelepka 4 #5 October 21, 2003 I got wet on a sunset load in July. Temp was like 90 that day, so it was refreshing. I've actually seen the video from that swoop meet. It even looked cold on the TV.
