Swoop pond opens at Pitt Meadows

Recommended Posts

After one of the driest summers on record, record rains in early October have refilled the swoop pond(s) at Pitt Meadows.
Yesterday Paco demonstrated how NOT to swoop the pond. Fortunately J.P. caught him on video.
Paco's reserve should be dry enough to repack this afternoon.
Hah! Hah!

Saw and heard (the splash, that is) it...
There should be at least two pics i shot of it with J.P.s camera; where are they?;)
The mind is like a parachute - it only works once it's open.
From the edge you just see more.
... Not every Swooper hooks & not every Hooker swoops ...

I think that if you don't get wet at least once a year, you're not trying hard enough.

Actually, if you don't impact the water, but just come up short of making the other side, it's kinda fun. (This is the kind of landing I'm reffering to in the above statement, by the way).

Almost exactly one year ago a crowd of us met up in Cedartown, GA for the inaugural fall swoop meet. Every single one of us in the pro category got soaked in the 40 degree water at least once. It was the most miserable time I have ever had in my skydiving life, but the memories and stories about that meet will live on in infamy.
