NeedToJump 0 #26 September 20, 2003 So let me get this straight, one square foot less means better opening? Hmm, give me a pair of scissors, I'm downsizing to a Stiletto 134 tonight! I would assume that the better opening was something in the manufacturing process of that specific canopy? I was told that with the FX and the VX that if you buy two of the same size they may fly very differently (two FXs or two VXs, not an FX compared to a VX.)Wind Tunnel and Skydiving Coach http://www.ariperelman.com
hookitt 1 #27 September 20, 2003 You're funny dude. I could care less how you fly or how you think you fly. I'm sure he could shut that canopy down quite well. I'd venture to guess that if he landed in the grass, he'd have shut it down a bit more. I only posted that link because you said he couldn't fly coast to coast. Big deal, so you were wrong. Heck I wish I had a canopy like that or yours. I'd fly it now and then. It looks fun.My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... freeflydrew 0 #29 September 20, 2003 QuoteWhen people get so stubborn about simple outright proven facts the disscussion becomes futile. Maybe everyone is talking about something different here... .when I watch Luigi's swoop on the 46, it has to do with the dive, the arc, the the plane out, and the shut down, where as the shut down isn't necessarily the thing from which the entire landing is judged... It's the entire process that makes it grand or not... But it seems like you're looking more at the end of the landing process, and forming opinions of your landings and his landings from that. Do you think maybe the direction these threads have gone is because of a simple misunderstanding in what it is we're all talking about? I think there's a lot of stubborn people who skydive... it's probably in the nature of the beast, right? AND freeflybella never ATTACKED your video... she criticized it. diablopilot 2 #30 September 20, 2003 QuoteThis is a totally inaccurate statement. You are wrong. At the time Luigi was flying the 46 the Perris pond was only 150 x 150, and he could get at least 150' on the 46, so that would mean coast to coast is possible.---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously.

Miami 0 #32 September 20, 2003 I'm not sure what Bruno's wingloading is or what kind of canopy he is jumping. I personally jumped my way down to ~ 3:1, over thousands of jumps, which is what I have found to be happy at. I really enjoy the ground rush after a hook started at 1200ft. I love the short burst of incredibly fast speed, the ground zipping under my feet. I could really care less about getting every last inch out of the swoop...that just doesn't excite me. Technically I am overloading my canopies. At sea level I have not had a problem with landing this wingloading. Now that I am landing at 6500ft msl the landings are faster and a bit harder to shut down. I use discretion on no wind days up here, but that is a sacrafice I am willing to make to get the kind of landings that thrill me. That is what we are after in this sport isn't it? To be thrilled? So...thats why I want to.Miami
D22369 0 #33 September 22, 2003 He is interested in speed.......not surf. What is so hard to understand about that?......... not my cup of tea, but to each his own. RoyThey say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
YM4 0 #34 September 22, 2003 You are deafinately the combination of a lawyer and a scientist, or shall I call you a "LAWYENTIST" Ive seen Luigi jumping his 46 many times, we competed together at Quincy in 2000. You shouls have seen that thing opening, or shall I say exploding. He was only giving a sec delay and that thing was like jumping a no slider BASE canopy and doing terminal OUCHHHHHH! He was coming in fast and under controll but that 46 looked like it was going to brake in pieces and the minimum toggle imput was notisable. From what I know Luigi is the only GOOD canopy pilot that has flown that high wing loading for many times. I repeat GOOD! My opinion of him flying this small canopy, is just to prove the world that CrossBraces canopies can hold a lot of wing loading and still fly. This doesnt mean that they will open soft or fly great, but they will fly. My question is, Why doesnt he flies it all the time? He is inteligent enough to know good from bad. When ever you have a chance, post a video of you surviving your landing, but please edit it only to see the "so called swoop and survival landing" I dont wanna se noone jumping from the plane. Your landing should fit in less than 50k, they are no that long anyways. "Blessings for you my son" read below"It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!" Treejumps 0 #36 September 22, 2003 Bruno, I don't think that Luigi runs when he lands on the back of moving 4 wheelers, boats, and trucks. You really should just never mention Luigis' name. Any reference that you can somehow trade swopp info with him is just silly. I'll bet any amount of money, any day of the week on ANY competition between you and Luigi, that you will eat your words. You wouldn't have these problems if you didn't run your mouth so much. You land at 4.0. WOW! Nobody is impressed (except TEX), and that bothers you. Talking yourself up isn't making your swooping, or lack of it any better. The more you try to tell everyone how great you are, the worse your position. If it makes you happy to look foolish, keep talking. If you want to get real and earn the respect of fellow swooper and jumpers that you seem to crave, get an appropriate canopy, learn how to really swoop, go compete, win, and then post about how great you are. Jeeez, is it that hard to "get it".
