D22369 0 #1 September 13, 2003 Precision relined my fx, made my first jump on the new lines today at skydive Oregon. The canopy flies slightly different, feels crisper and quicker to respond, front risers seem lighter......my question is : since vectran doesnt stretch/shrink much should there be a noticable difference? course my last 3 jumps while it was being re-lined were on a diablo 170 so maybe it is flying the same as before and it just seems quicker cause of my experience flying the skybarge RoyThey say I suffer from insanity.... jumperconway 0 #2 September 14, 2003 I assume they did the X-mod with HMA lines. They change the trim.

twnsnd 1 #4 September 15, 2003 If you want a Xaos, just buy one. Don't ruin your fx. -We are the Swoophaters. We have travelled back in time to hate on your swoops.-
diablopilot 2 #5 September 15, 2003 I agree, if you want an Xaos, buy one. If you want your FX to stop beating you up, have the mod done, it's an improvement!---------------------------------------------- You're not as good as you think you are. Seriously. twnsnd 1 #6 September 15, 2003 Just out of curiosity. What is it about your fx that you dislike. The ONLY thing that I don't like is the riser pressure, but I wouldn't want to alter the design perameters to fix it. I get beautiful on heading openings on my 104 jumping at high alt in CO. -We are the Swoophaters. YM4 0 #7 September 15, 2003 I agree with you. But I had a 78VX that was killing me on the opennings. Tried a hundred packing tricks but the only one that worked took like 30 minutes pack. I didnt have the $$$ for a new Xaos so I send it to my friends at Precision and, Hell! it was a BIG differece, 100% better opennings, which was what I really was looking for. Can't say Im flying a new canopy but the Mod really works. I think both brands of canopies are great but the VX tend to open a bit hard, at least mine did."It's not the size of the dog in the fight, It's the size of the fight in the dog!" D22369 0 #8 September 16, 2003 QuoteJust out of curiosity. What is it about your fx that you dislike. CO. WHOOOOAAAAaa.......hold on, I wasnt complaining about anything with this canopy!!!! I love this damned ground hungry bitch, stable as a rock in turbulence with awsome user friendly surfs. the riser pressure that everyone seems to dislike doesnt bother me, I can hold an aggressive front riser through a 720 (not that I try that for landings) with the new lines the canopy seems to respond quicker and have more flair is all I was saying in my previous post. The only negative that I can think of is I was getting 8 second snivels with the old line set, very soft and controllable, with the new lines I am getting about 4 seconds and it is a noticably firmer opening. still controllable, but not as friendly to this old body as I could wish for. I will probably end up swapping this slider out for one that has a slightly larger dimensions. As far as fun factor goes, I have all I could wish for with this canopy and will probably keep it for a while.... at least till precision sends me a 79 xaos demo ......
