Ducky's BEER Rig!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Well I FINALLY got my beer rig together!:)
Pic attached

Its a Javelin J-2 (1993 model) Cricket Reserve, and Cypres fresh back from it's 8 year w/ new batteries. I purchased from Mike @ American Skydiving Systems in Biloxi. Removed the ROL and added a new BOC, added dive loops and new stows and velcro on the risers. Nice guy and good looking work.

I may have paid a bit high ($1375), but I'm ok w/ what I paid after getting the run around on the net. I had 3 different sellers flake out on me, all from the DZ.com classifieds.

I went out to the DZ yesterday and started asking round about a main and was bout to give in and order a new Hornet. Luckiliy got turned on to a used Sabre 150 w/ 280 jumps in excellent shape for $700. It's more than I really wanted to pay for such a canopy, BUT I was anxious to jump my rig. I hate ordering things. I like instant gratification ya know? Pay for it play w/ it the same day B|

Anyways, many of you here have been a big help in my endless search for gear and I just wanted to say thanx. I am so glad it's over, for now!!:o

I should take and attach a picture of my beer rig, but I'm lazy at the moment. I got a Dolphin (98) and Tempo 170 (98, no rides), and a Cypres (96, new batteries). On Monday, I'm dropping it off to a rigger for full inspection and repack. It looks really clean and fits really well. I paid $1150 for it. I ordered a new Hornet 170 for $945, so I have a few weeks to go before I can get it in the air. I was trying to find a used one, but didn't have much luck. I figure I did pretty good, anyway. I didn't want to spend big money on a first rig, when I'll probably be tempted to move on in a few hundred jumps. I can't wait to jump it.

It sounds like you did well on your rig too. Congrats!
