Harksaw 0 #1 May 27, 2003 I have about 65 jumps total and 25 or so on my sabre 190. I am getting pretty comfortable but am looking for some more stuff to do besides riser dives and spirals. What can I do to increase my skills safely? I am looking for some stepping stones for long before I try anything dangerous(hook turns), and I dont know how to go about improving my canopy skills. What can I do given the canopy I have and my skill/experience level?
quade 4 #2 May 27, 2003 Have you tried landing, standing and staying inside 10 meter circle 10 times in a row? That ought to keep you busy for about 450 or so jumps.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

freakydiver 0 #5 June 3, 2003 Interesting - I had all 25 of my accuracy jumps for D fufilled before reaching a hundred jumps. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
SkymonkeyONE 4 #6 June 3, 2003 Quoteeek, I agree with Quade again Yeah, accuracy. That is key to being a great swooper. I hope that was not meant as a joke. Accuracy is INCREDIBLY important in swooping. You don't make the gates, you get a big goose egg for your score. Chuck

I'm aiming to do the requirements for my B and C at the same time. Our landing requirements are: A: Have made at least 10 descents landing within 25 metres of the target centre, these landings being made unassisted by a Target Assistant. B: Have made 7 consecutively nominated descents landing within 25 metres of the target centre. C: Have made at least 20 descents landing within 10 metres of the target centre; and Have completed 5 consecutively nominated descents landing within 20 metres of the target disc. D: Have made at least 20 descents landing within 5 metres of the target centre. E: Have made at least 20 descents landing within 1 metre of the target centre. F: Have made at least 20 descents landing within 0.5 metre of the target centre; and Have completed 20 consecutively nominated descents landing within 5 metres of the target disc-- Arching is overrated - Marlies
freakydiver 0 #8 June 4, 2003 I actually did "nominate" my 25 as you say - I told someone on the load (which probably isn't true "nomination") that I was going for target and to please note where I landed. -- (N.DG) "If all else fails – at least try and look under control." --
