Viking 0 #1 May 15, 2003 Looking through my parachutist the caption says 'Brian Germain Flies his back risers through the distance course at Skydive City." You can plainly see cross bracing in the canopy, and what looks like (to me) to be airlocks. or could it just be late and thats a Velocity?I swear you must have footprints on the back of your helmet - chicagoskydiver My God has a bigger dick than your god -George Carlin
dsbbreck 0 #2 May 15, 2003 When I was in Zhills a few weeks ago I heard about him testing the canopy there and they said he had one hell of a sweet swoop.David "Socrates wasn't killed because he had the answer.......he was killed because he asked the question." ThighMan 5 #5 May 15, 2003 I'm pretty sure it is the Sensai. I went from the Samurai 150 to the 136 and enjoy the bejesus out of it. Brian has been testing the new canopy for a while now. Said if you are a swooper, this is the must have canopy.Airborne Blue Skies, No Wind Feet and Knees Together
DaMan 0 #6 May 15, 2003 I spoke with him after his last modification - he said he had decided to give up some of the quickness in turning for longer swooping... He's getting over a five second swoop out of it at the moment (wish I could do that!). Can't wait Z-Flock 8 Discotec Rodriguez Too bad weapons grade stupidity doesn't lead to sterility. PhreeZone 20 #7 May 15, 2003 My guess is thats a prototype. Brian tends to do about 5000 revisons before putting the final product out there. I can't wait to see this one once its done.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
skygod7777 0 #8 May 15, 2003 ya, it was a sensi, a proto type. he has made 2 complete different canopies sense then (that i've seen). and has done little trim mods to each one (like on site). at least this is what i under stood from him. later

SkySlut 0 #11 May 15, 2003 Mike Swanson has been jumping those things all summer in Sebastian...sweet canopy...opens superslow...very nice. Although, I dont see him getting any more distance out of it than anyone else here with a Velocity or other x-braced.

Designer 0 #13 May 17, 2003 That,s for sure Bri.I keep hearing he is nailing it down little by little.Hey,it takes time.Guess it,s time to start saving for my first hybrid 97?
mnischalke 0 #14 May 19, 2003 Exactly. The one on that website is the most recent one. He pulled 400+ ft into the wind with that version. The one in Parachutist is similar to the Sensei Mike Swanson's been competing with. I watched Brian pick bartacks the day before the Zhills meet. He was really dialing that thing in right up until the first official load. If you notice the pic in Parachutist, he's near the end of the course, still in rears. Soooo, you might ask "where is the tail deflection?" Hmmmm... heheee. You may also notice the nose is much more pressurized than any of the other x-braced canopies. The valving system he's using to achieve nose pressurization (ie. more efficient wing) is quite trick and even more apparent in the latest version. I fully expect that canopy to become the platform some will use to easily succeed the current envelope. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills. rapper4mpi 0 #15 May 20, 2003 Brian completed 2 cross-braced airlocked canopies a few years ago now. Mike Swanson placed about 1,000+ jumps on both of them. Those are the yellowish ones in the pics on Brian's site. Currently, Mike has one of those and his younger brother has the other. Both are still flying exceptionally great. Brian wasn't completely satisfied, so he made some more mods and Mike has another set that he has been test jumping all spring. Of course, Brian was still not comepletly satisfied and has made some more canopies with more mods. Last time I spoke with him he was in the testing stage and is hoping to release the new canopy soon. Once he is perfectly satisfied with the design. It really is amazing to see how he tests the canopies and how much time goes into them. Stay tuned. -Rap
