Cobalt 120

Recommended Posts

i just got my cobalt 120 today, I have never jumped one before so I am kind of woundering what i can generally expect, say compaired to a stilletto 150 witch i am very comfortable with and would give me a good refrence point.
I should add my exit weight is @ 225 -
Thanks
I want to be just like Truman Sparks when I get big... ;)

That's a big step in canopy performance. Have you jumped an eliptical before?? I would advise some transitional jumps
before using the Cobalt 120... Fly a 150 Cobalt before downsizing, if you don't have eliptical experience.
I don't mean to rain on your parade, BUT, it is normally not a good idea to downsize and go to an eliptical design all at once. Good luck! Be very cautious. Please keep us posted about your experience.
Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...

Congrats on new canopy ! I jump regularly Stiletto 120 and I've jumped a friends Cobalt 95. My exit weight is about 180 pounds so I load those canopies quite similarly as you load yours. I found that Cobalt was very nice to fly and very easy to land. The Cobalt's turns were fast and sharp but it handled greatly and I had no problems what so ever with it. I took very conservative straight in approach with it and it still gave me nice surf in the end and the flare felt much more powerful than the Stiletto's. Overall, I liked the Cobalt very much and I think you'll like it too !
