Jessica 0 #1 October 23, 2002 I have aquired my first ZP canopy, which means I have a leftover nine-cell PD 170 daisy-chained in the closet now. I can't sell it -- it's probably worth a dollar. I used it for about 150 jumps, which brings its total to ~450. It flies fine, but it's hard to flare. So what do you do with gear you really can't sell, but is still airworthy? Keep it for when your real canopy is being relined? Give it to your rigger-apprentice boyfriend to practice patching on? Use it as interesting curtains?Skydiving is for cool people only
Kirils 1 #2 October 23, 2002 You might want to do a safety day auction. It's a great way to get rid of the extra junk. Use a % of the take to help the local rescue squad or keep the DZO out of bankruptcy."Slow down! You are too young to be moving that fast!" AggieDave 6 #4 October 23, 2002 Give it to phree to have relined with dacron, non-cascaded A lines and let him CReW the crap out of it.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
wlie 0 #5 October 23, 2002 My friend who is also an instructor at the DZ owns an SR-71 190. It's really old. Then came time for him to work on his PRO rating. And that's what he used as his accuracy canopy. My other ride is the relative wind.
diver123 0 #6 October 23, 2002 Offer it up to a newbie who is having a hard time affording their first equipment. Can you imagine how happy you'd have been if something like that happened to you when you were trying to get your first rig together??? Just an idea... "pull high! It's lower than you think..."
