Is this actually the case? steering lines are definetely different. the lenght of lines after cascades are the same for original safire and different for safire2. cross-ports i belive are also different for new one. and it has a huge slider ! i remember when i talked to simon from icarus he said that differences were not limited to what i mentioned but he didn't give me much more specifics ... the glide ratio (due to new lineset ?) is much better. it glides incredibly. stan. -- it's not about defying gravity; it's how hard you can abuse it. speed skydiving it is ... johnny1488 1 #5 October 22, 2002 The safire2 is a different canopy than the original. It has a slightly different planform shape and different brake line configuration. It retains many of the flight characteristics of the original ( quick recovery arc, deep control range) but has a very powerful flare and great glide. As far as the mod I think its only on the brake lines and have heard it works pretty well. Simon also developed 2 size sliders for each new canopy to give the buyer a choice of opening lengths.
