evilivan 0 #1 October 15, 2002 Looking for some help/advice.... I am thinking about swapping my Spectre 150 (DOM 2000, approx 350 jumps) for a Jedei 136 (DOM unknown, approx 600 jumps). Should cash be included in the deal? If so, which way? I think my Spectre is probably worth a little more based on age - as far as I know, Jedei's haven't been made for a while (?) All comments appreciated BSCB Ivan"If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation." PhreeZone 20 #2 October 15, 2002 It depends on condition and how much you want the other canopy. For something thats hard to find I was willing to pay more then market value when I ran across something used thatwas exaclty what I liked last week (Jedei 136). I sold my old Spectre 170 that had a 1/3 of the jumps as the Jedei for only $200 more since thats all the market value of the canopies at the time were. During certian seasons it seems that different canopies have different prices. Summer the Spectres are hot items as most low jump people are looking for their first canopy and the hot canopies (crossbraced) picks up value in the spring when experienced jumpers are getting back to jumping full time.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Samurai136 0 #3 October 16, 2002 Does the Jedei need to be re-lined? I'd contact Brian at Big Air Sportz and ask him what he thinks. Personally, I'd buy a Samurai and sell the Spectre to someone as opposed to trading a used canopy for an even more used canopy. Kind of like trading a used 2000 Honda for an early 1990's Corvette, when you could sell the honda and buy the new Corvette.
