JnL 0 #1 October 14, 2002 What type is the best? Any info would help. Thanks
nacmacfeegle 0 #2 October 14, 2002 How would you classify best. I used to jump at aDZ that required FDs, we used aqua boys (sp?) but they were merely cosmetic, as they would be unlikely to save even your rig......-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. ChileRelleno 0 #3 October 14, 2002 Check out the various flotation devices at ParaGear they have a good selection of quality gear. IMO the Inflata-belt is a very good choice. Remember think of yourself first and your gear second. ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
riggerrob 643 #4 October 14, 2002 In Canadian waters the "best" flotation is a dry suit, with a Mustang floater suit being a close second. Drowning might kill you in Canadian waters, but hypothermia will definitely kill you! I remember what a struggle it was for Canadian Navy helicopter pilots to don their dry suits so I doubt if any skydiver would take his survival that seriously, so we return to basics: checking the winds, looking before you leap and watching where you are going under canopy. councilman24 37 #5 October 14, 2002 I bought mine here. http://www.chiefaircraft.com/Aircraft/Aircraft.html and made my own pouch. A single cell CO2 with oral inflation is better than most skydivers wear. Of course the best flotation device is a continent (land) I'm old for my age.
