khaoz 0 #1 August 30, 2002 Hi, I did some thing stuip this last weekend and got to use all of my paracutes (fortunately one at a time). This was the first time I have used my current Temo. My last one was replaced due to it having a built in right turn. Imagine my surprise when this one did exactly the same thing. I have heard of a couple of other people experincing the same problem and was wondering if other makes of reserves have similar probelms ? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks, BrettC1496
PhreeZone 20 #2 August 30, 2002 It would'nt be the first time that this has happened. A quick glance in the gear review for the Tempo: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/gear/review.cgi?ID=63, shows this to be an issue on more then a few canopies.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
SkydiveMonkey 0 #3 August 30, 2002 I have a tempo, and *touching wood* haven't had to use it yet. I was chatting with a TM at our dz, and he said he's had about 5 reserve rides on tempos (different ones) without any problem.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
JFC3 0 #4 August 30, 2002 I've had two Tempo reserve rides and while I didn't think they were the best flying thing I never had a built in turn or any other unsafe problem. Now they were both non-terminal cutaways but they opened smooth and on heading and got me down alive. "Five days? But I'm angry now!"
riggerrob 643 #5 August 30, 2002 That's odd, we have dozens of Tempos at Pitt Meadows and this is the first I have heard about built in turns.

Spy38W 0 #7 September 4, 2002 Hey there, I have three Tempo rides, 2 on my 150, and 1 on a borrowed 170. All of mine have behaved well with no built in turn or anything. Out of curiosity, what was the DOM of your Tempo? -- Hook high, flare on time
cobaltdan 0 #8 September 4, 2002 i had a conversation last year with tony frost of maranas, about having reserves drop tested. mentioned was that he was a dealer of tempo's and he jump tested every one he sold because there was a very high percentage with built in turns. i am not a big fan of tempo's as i load my reserve 2:1. (tempo's do not have nice flight characteristics at high wingloads). anyway he might be someone knowledgeable to speak with and if you choose to buy a tempo, perhaps he would be a good souce as he screens them.. sincerely, dan<><>Daniel Preston <><> atairaerodynamics.com (sport) atairaerospace.com (military)
