skydoc999 0 #1 August 30, 2002 I have a new clipper 195 with a total of 10 jumps. Every jump has been brutal. I have severe neck stiffness and pulled hamstrings from the violent openings. I have tried various methods of rolling the nose, stowing the slider, etc... Does anyone have any experience with this canopy, or any suggestions? (I have a total of 44 jumps)
PhreeZone 20 #2 August 30, 2002 First question is why a Clipper? Other then that try and get a bigger slider on the canopy for a few jumps. That usually will tame the worst of the canopies.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
fasterfaller 0 #3 August 30, 2002 Post some specifics of how you are packing it . Have you tried longer line stows ?
fudd 0 #4 August 30, 2002 Hi I jump the same canopy, but mine is from 1988, and has approx 350-400 jumps. I only get sweet nice openings on mine. I Propack it, rolling the front a little bit.One technic to soften up the openings is to put the end cells into the center cell. However I have been warned that this could damage the center cell.Maybe replaceing the slider with a bigger one also would help. What's you're wingload?I usually ask some of the packers at the DZ for advice. They can often give some good tips on what to do.
Bruno 0 #5 August 30, 2002 I have used it towards the end of 80's for some tens of jumps. The openings were horrible (for one square canopy 9 cell F-111) even if not violent. After some modifications to the lines, suggested from the manufactures, I have thrown it away. Bruno
masterrigger1 2 #6 August 30, 2002 Please call "Red" @ 770-458-1516 and let him know what your problems are. Something isn't right as those canopies usually have great openings.
