kingbunky 3 #1 August 18, 2002 anybody have any info on a precision aerodynamics monarch canopy? i saw an ad for a used 195 and was wondering if it would be a decent starter canopy. i would be loading it a little over 1.1:1."Hang on a sec, the young'uns are throwin' beer cans at a golf cart." SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 August 18, 2002 I've heard a little about this canopy, they have a tendancy to open hard I think.____________________ Say no to subliminal messages

Kirils 1 #4 August 18, 2002 I jumped one a few times and hated the openings. I think the canopy is too old from a technological srtandpoint. There are so many better chutes today, I would pass on it. AndyMan 7 #5 August 18, 2002 I did a few jumps on one a few monthes ago. My thoughts were that it was an attempt to knock-off PD's Sabre. I was jumping a 195, loaded at about 1.1:1 To say it opened 'briskly' would be an understatement. Expect consistently hard openings. If you're going to buy one, make sure you do lots of neck exercises. In terms of performance... it was comparable to a sabre. Good flare on landings, and a reasonable sporty turn rate. The canopy I jumped seemed to have very poor penetration, but this was probably caused by the uncolapasable pilotchute, slider, and Dacron lines. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
