Sabre2 120 in J1

Recommended Posts

I have an javelin j1 (which is sized for a 150) and am wondering if i can fit a sabre2 120 in it. Has anyone else done the same?

pretty useless answer. he alreay knows that j1 is sized for 150 and he is saying it in his message.
so sending him to sunpath's web site would do much. he is rather asking for practical knowledge from
somebody who happens to have 120 in j1. i have safire2-149 in j1 and it's perfect fit, i think 120
will be too loose.

Sorry. I actually responded to this yesterday but I guess it didn't take.

I'll begin the same way. I am not a rigger or an expert on this subject but I have done a similar thing you're looking to do.

I put a 150 in my J4 which is bulit for a 190. After consulting riggers and people more informed than me I figured out how to do it. Javelin's are actually pretty much the only container I know you can do this with because of where the closing loop is. This allows you to sinch up the flaps and by shortening the closing loop create a tight close on your pin. I would of course run it by your friendly local rigger and even ask them to do it for you if you're unsure of your ability. I did RW and sit flying in it and didn't have a problem. I would just make sure there wasn't "too" much room in there.

Good luck and be safe.

Sabre2 120 should fit nicely in the J1 (which is what I fly), but... I'm stuffing a Sabre2 170 in mine.

Just make sure to adjust the closing loop after you swap out so your grommets line up nicely. Should be a perfect fit (plus makes it look a lot nicer).

I fly a 135 in my J1, and it fits very nicely, so I would think with a 120, you might have a little extra space, but if I was a betting man, I'd bet you'd be fine
