Question my buying a main

Wanted to know what all is included in the package when you go shopping for a main specially off classifieds. If there's an add for main being sold does it mean it includes the deployment bag, the bridle and the pilot chute.

That has to do with the container and is generally sold with the container.

You cannot expect to get any of that with the purchase of a main, but you might enquire and see if the owner has any extra risers he or she can send them on. Dave is correct, though, in saying that all of those items are considered part of the harness/container system.

Generally, when you buy a main, you get it sent to you with the connector links and brake lines tied off to a piece of cardboard.

Although the pilot chute, bridle, D-bag, and risers (and toggles) are part of the container, many sellers don't know that and you need to ask what all is included (or not included) to be sure. Just don't expect to get anything but the main unless the seller tells you more is included.

and what about the connector links, is that something left to the sellers discretion or is it considered as part of the canopy and can be demanded to be included.

All manufacturers - except P.D. - routinely supply connector links with new canopies.
Lately P.D. has been shipping new canopies with silly little plastic ties connecting lines to cardboard cards. It looks like a plot to sell more "Slinks."
