Reserve size on Odyssey

Recommended Posts

Got a Odyssey J1K with a PD 143 reserve. My rigger is complaining that the reserve is too small for the container. Does someone has a PD 160 or anything else in this container? I like to have the biggest reserve in there which fit...
Thanks
Marcus

A rigger complaining that a reserve is too SMALL for a container?? It'll just be easier to pack...

But to the point: Sunpath website tells us that the reserves that fit the J1K are in the 143-150 range, so there really shouldn't be a problem.(www.sunpath.com --> sizing)

Not if the rigger has to pack the reserve big that it does not moves in the container...

Sounds a bit strange to me. I do have zero experience on Odysseus-rigs(and pretty near zero on any rig...), but as far as I know PD reserves pack bigger than most(!).

Maybe you should ask another rigger? Maybe your rigger just packs too goddamn well:)
And of course, contact Sunpath directly. I'm sure they will help you.

i have pd-143r in j1. it fills it perfectly. i think 160 will squeeze there as well.

According to Sunpath's sizing chart, the J1 was built for a PD143R-Raven 150-Tempo 150; that canopy should fit in there perfectly. You sure it's not a J2? The J2 was built for a PD160R-Raven 181-Tempo 170/150 zp main. Check the data panel (tucked into the inside of the top reserve flap); if it's really a J1 I'd give Sunpath a call and ask them about it.
