rendezvous 0 #1 July 22, 2002 Anyone used a SkyCorder for recording skydiving data. How detailed and reliable is it. I already have a Pro Dytter so was looking for something cheap way of achiving what a pro track can do.
quade 4 #2 July 22, 2002 I've never used a Skycorder, but the Pro-track is by far the most accepted device of it's kind. Data should be within a couple of percent of accuracy when compared to another Pro-track. If you compare a Skycorder reading with one from a Pro-track, they're probably not going to agree very well at all. Depending on what you're trying to do, this may or may not matter to you, but if it does matter, you should be aware of it.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
rendezvous 0 #3 July 23, 2002 so basically you are saying that the Skycorder is not accurate since pro track is everyones choice and the readings from the two may differ a lot.Quote
 quade 4 #4 July 23, 2002 For all I know the Skycorder could be more accurate than the Pro-track, but either way it's simply not going to agree with the Pro-track. So, if you're going to use it for fall-rate comparisons, you might not be happy with the results.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
 BadDog 0 #5 July 23, 2002 I've used a Skycorder, a Skytronic Pro, and a ProTrack. I've had occasional trouble with "funny" numbers on the Skycorder and the Skytronic Pro, and I've had occasional trouble with failures to record or automatic shutoff on the Skycorder and the Skytronic Pro. The ProTrack is the most reliable of the three, in my experience. Also, the Skycorder does not double as a "dytter" like the ProTrack and Skytronic Pro. Another option to consider is the Skytronic FX, which I have not tried.
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
