scotts 0 #1 July 20, 2002 The gelcoat on my helmet has started cracking unbelievably. Started as a small spot, but now it's all over. Maybe I should get a new one? Anyone else had this problem? dom in 96.
skycat 0 #2 July 20, 2002 Do you mean the face shield? I know you have to be very careful with them cause they seem to fog/crack easy if you touch them alot.Fly it like you stole it!
Stacy 0 #3 July 20, 2002 I'm not sure exactly what you are talking about, but if it is the face shield you can just replace it. I think new face lenses are about 20$ if I remember correctly. I clean my lens almost weekly with a mild hand soap and warm water, no problems at all.
kallend 2,146 #4 July 20, 2002 If it's the gelcoat on the fiberglass helmet body, it's just cosmetic. Rub it down, prime, and repaint with DupliColor Mirage color changing paint. If it's something else, be more precise...
scotts 0 #5 July 21, 2002 It's gelcoat on the fiberglass, and it's to the point of pieces coming off. Example: shell on a hard boiled egg as it comes off. It's an older FP-1.
