Rdutch 0 #1 May 16, 2002 I was just looking at the new ad for mirage. And they are advertising their mill spec fittings. I was just wondering what a mill spec end fitting is. And if it is a Mill spec fitting as Mirage claim what mill spec category does it fall under? As far as I can find out there is no mill spec for the cutaway system as this falls in the category of main systems. I might be wrong but I think there should be a little truth in advertising. If it is a Mill spec system it came from parafilte and they would have certified the system with a large three ring system which we know is a much more efficient system.Hook low Flare late
weid14 0 #2 May 16, 2002 Mil spec is applicable to the particular component, and it means that that component meets the certain specifications required for that part. The ad is totally in truth.
polarbear 1 #3 May 16, 2002 It is possibly covered in Mil-H-7195, which is for hardware in general. There are a lot of mil-specs out there...the ones listed in the parachute manual are all at least 11 years old.I don't think there is anything untruthful about Mirage's add.
