SkydiveMonkey 0 #1 May 11, 2002 I know canopies like stilettos will hunt for a heading once in a while, but my hornet seems to be doing it a lot. Is this normal for a hornet? (Or is it just my dodgy packing skills ) When I grow up, I want to be a post whore
rgoper 0 #2 May 12, 2002 on each pack, do you trace your steering lines all the way to the toggles to remove the twists? i was experiencing the same thing until i started doing this, just a thought. Richard"Gravity Is My Friend"

AndyMan 7 #4 May 12, 2002 I've seen "hunting" for a heading on every jump I ever did on a Big Air Sportz Lotus and Samurai, Icarus Crossfire and PD Stiletto - in short, every highly loaded eliptical canopy I've jumped. I've come to appreciate the jumps where it only "hunts" - meaning it will turn back and forth but not give me more then a 45 degree off heading._AmICQ: 5578907MSN Messenger: andrewdmetcalfe at hotmail dot com AIM: andrewdmetcalfeYahoo IM: ametcalf_1999
flow 1 #5 May 12, 2002 My Hornet does the same thing, but dunno if I pack it poorly too. :)
freeflir29 0 #6 May 13, 2002 I had a 360 + degree opening yesterday. It was pretty fun and totally my fault. I was uneven in the harness and had packed a serious snivel. Most of the time if it does anything more than "hunt" it's bad harness loading. If it turns 45 or more out of the bag immediately and stays that way...it's packing. Just my opinion. wlie 0 #7 May 13, 2002 In my less than 10 jumps on my Diablo 170, I wouldn't say that it looks for a heading although it dances around left and right and I'll try to tame it with rear risers before I release the brakes. Another Diablo jumper told me that the dancing is because I was either shifting or my weight wasn't centered in the harness.
