KATO33 0 #1 April 26, 2002 I've heard Pros and Cons for Tube Stoes and the regular Bands Is this the solution?Anybody have any experience with Super Bandz
bhale 0 #2 April 26, 2002 Yes, we use them allot. They are really "super" tough to work with, however. It is extremely difficult opening them enough to get the lines in. For 525 and smaller, they are very good.
eames 0 #3 April 26, 2002 As I've said in some other thread... I use Super-bands and I've had great luck with them. They're small enough to hold HMA well and they last a lot longer than standard rubber bands. They're also much stronger than standard rubber bands, and many people are hesitant to use them because they think they won't break, but I've had them break on deployment on at least a few occasions. Even when they were brand new. I recommend them...Jason
Merrick 0 #4 April 26, 2002 You must be a pro-bodybuilder or something then eames. I put a few of those on mine & my wife's locking stows & immediately took them off. I couldn't get them open enough to stow my lines, and my wife certainly couldn't. I hated them.... What's worked really well for me is tube-stows on my locking stows then regular bands on all other stows... wonderful openings."Pammi's Hemp/Skydiving Jewelry"
SkymonkeyONE 4 #5 April 26, 2002 I don't use superbands as locking stows, but really like them on the regular stows. They hold up quite well and have less tendency to allow stows to roll out like tube stows sometimes do. I generally always use tube stows as locking stows and mix and match superbands and small tube stows on everything else. Normally, it's whatever I can scarf from a buddy when I snap one. PhreeZone 20 #7 April 26, 2002 I Use SkyStows which are the same as Super Bands as my locking stows and love them, I went over 75 jumps before the one finally broke on me. It took a bit of learning how to close the bag with less effort, but once I did... its great. I mix and match the bands with the rubberbands just how ever I happen to break one and grab a replacement. BadDog 0 #8 April 27, 2002 I use them and I've had no trouble at all. They hold like rubber bands and wear like Tube Stows. I do know of one guy who used them on his locking stows and had a bag lock because he double wrapped them. They are tight when you first put them on, but you can stretch them out a bit and over time they will actually get to the point where you might double wrap the non-locking stows. Use a pull-up cord to install them and stretch them out.CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog

alan 1 #10 April 28, 2002 I just made a few jumps on a new Nitron with HMA lines. Used the mil spec rubber bads provided by RI for the d-bag on a Voodoo. I didn't even double wrap. The locking stows are the bigger bands and the side stows are the smaller ones. That canopy opened smooth as silk. The lines are smaller, but there are more of them because they are not cascaded so they seemed to have a comparable bulk in the bands to the Vectran lines in my canopy. I guess it can't hurt to double wrap, but the line stows seemed secure enough to me. BTW, that Nitron is one sweet canopy........I'll probably do an in depth review after I've had a few more jumps on it.alan
