SkydiveMonkey 0 #2 April 23, 2002 Oohhh - shiney thing. Want one. When you participate in sporting events, its not whether you win or you're loose, its how drunk you get.
AggieDave 6 #3 April 24, 2002 Nice, how big is it. Benchmade makes some nice stuff, I especially liked the Emerson designed CQC 7 they had a few years ago (although Emerson has come out with some much better designs now).A human cannonball, I rise above it allUp higher then a trapeze, I can fly
ChromeBoy 0 #4 April 24, 2002 [billy bob thorton voice] Some people say carry a hook knife but I prefer a Sling Blade. [/billy bob thorton voice]
ramon 0 #5 April 24, 2002 Get some cheap risers , put tension on them and see how fast you can cut through all 4 with that thing. better yet hang yourself up by them and try it.then get a jack the ripper (two opposing razor blades) and try it.Might be interesting, I bet a jack the ripper will do it easier.ramon
wlie 0 #6 April 24, 2002 [butthead's_voice]ehh... never heard of a 3 ring release? sos?[/butthead's_voice][beavis'_voice]yeah! you're never gonna score![beavis'_voice]Well... I accidentally shaved off my fingerprints while feeling it's edge.Besides, I've got 2 jacks. One in the car, the other starped on my ankle + a z-knife in my shoulder strap. And you're missing the point. I said coolest, not best. I should've also said sharpest.Oh! The handle doubles as a bottle cap opener. Very important after the last load... ramon 0 #9 April 24, 2002 Point was meant for an entanglement.1. reserve flap comes undone and you are hanging by the tail..cut your risers....'skydive, track pull your main' (hooknswoop)..if you are consious .I know it is meant for seat belts etc....just wondering how fast you could cut everything away with it.I agree it is cool and much better hands down than those tiny plastic one razor 'feel good' knives

SkydiveMonkey 0 #12 April 24, 2002 Those poppers that hld the knife onto your mud flaps - do they have to be done by a rigger, or can anyone put one on? I need one put on my rig, and neither dropzone I jump at has a "true" rigger. Danger could be my middle name. But it's Paul.
mnischalke 0 #13 May 1, 2002 That rescue knife was a joint venture between benchmade and US Survival Inc. My buddy from US Survival showed me one at the SHOT Show a few months back. It sliced through two sandwiched pieces of lightly-loaded two-inch webbing like a razor through butter. If you are going to actually use it as a hook knife, I think it's a bit large in circumference for the standard hookknife pocket, and the factory holster seems a bit slow and mechanically unwieldy for skydiving. You may need to build a new pocket and add some nylon tape with a snap to both ensure it's security and provide firm purchase during use.peace out, mikeThe Lord giveth and the M-79 taketh away.
