lummy 4 #1 April 14, 2002 I just bought a used Vector 3 which is about 5 years old. FWIW, it looks a tad bit pregnant with a Omega 180 in. Size is V352. Collapsible PC. The container looks to be in decent shape...On my 3 jumps today, I noticed that the pin cover was still in the slot and did not pop open. I talked briefly with the loft guy who thought it was odd and should pop open. I have not had ANY hesitations at all with opening and have always seen the bag come right off out of the corner of my eye...My question is if this is something I should be concerned about... The line gets attached to the velcro just below the slot, I fold over at a 45 degree angle so the pin is on the back side and thru the loop facing up which also shows me the collapsible window very easily. It then gets gets routed under the #3 flap then #2 down to the PC pocket. It just seems strange that the PIN cover is not popping openTIAGaryConjunction Junction, what's your function? tomblin 0 #2 April 14, 2002 None of the Vector III's I've ever jumped had main pin covers that come open durning deployment, nor does my current Mirage.
skydiverek 63 #3 April 14, 2002 That's the ingenious design of this flap. It is safe, extremly snag-proof, and it even does not have to open for a safe deployment. Well done, Relative Workshop!
Craig 0 #4 April 14, 2002 FWIW, my Mirage, which uses a very similar closing flap does not come open during deployment either. Come to think of it my old Dolphin wouldn't open during deployment.

Do you just take a deep breath and track to above a soft spot every time? ;-)Somehow I prefer containers that DO open.....Oh,, you were talking about the main pin flap.. Lindsey 0 #8 April 14, 2002 A Vector 3 (unless RWShop makes something newer between now and then) will be my graduation gift to myself in a few years when I FINALLY get out of school.....that will be 23 years of education.....LIRD! I've always looked for really good deals on good gear, but I've never been able to buy the system that I want. THAT will be it. On top of being able to be confident in the knowledge base that goes into making that rig.....it's a great looking rig too.... You can continually count on RWShop making a superior product. BTW....have you seen their nifty 3-D coloring program on their web site? It's fun to play with....Peace~LindseyEve was framed!http://home.earthlink.net/~linzwalley

billbooth 10 #10 April 14, 2002 Lummy; After landing, isn't it nice to know, every time, that your main protector flap was tightly shut during your entire jump, not flapping open, waiting for just the right wind angle to grab your pilot chute bridle, and pull out the curved pin. Especially if you were just head down doing 200 mph. It was specifically designed to stay shut all the way through deployment. This also gives your suspension lines a lot less to tangle with while they're "bouncing around" in the burble. Say thank you.Bill

I do have a question however. Is it possible to obtain an owners manual? I searched your website but could not find a place to order one. thank you againgaryConjunction Junction, what's your function?
