Wings boc pouch & cutaway handle

Recommended Posts

So far I had two riggers check out my rig for me. The thing that they agreed on is that the cordura pouch on the botton of the rig is really weird. The pilot chute doest't seem to go all the way in, and after you stuff it in there, there's still some nylon sticking out, which can cause a premature deployment. The opening of the pouch seems very wide, so part of the pilot chute is exposed. Also, the cutaway handle seems to be pretty loose in the velcro. Is this normal for WIngs, or is this just my container?

The Wings container uses part of the side flap to limit the mouth of the BOC pouch. When you pack it, the side flap will overlap part of the BOC pouch and limit the width of the mouth. This isn't obvious until the main is in it. I have one customer with about a year on his Wings and another with about 6 months and they haven't had any problem. This does provide for a hidden route for the bridle. Check out their web site at http://www.skydivewings.com/wings.htm for a drawing of what it looks like. I'm not sure what your mean about the cutaway handle. I don't remember it being much different from any other but I'll look at one I have in for reserve service tonight.

My cutaway handle is not loose at all on my Wings. It is the same as my old Vector II container. I would e-mail Heather from SunRise about the BOC pouch length. I read a post on here a few weeks ago where she was addressing this issue with Henry.
