PhreeZone 20 #2 March 19, 2002 You don't have room in the lines to pack both. And even if you did why? Slinks make hard links kinda pointless....I wish you would step back from that ledge my friend... ~3EB
skybytch 273 #3 March 19, 2002 Checking the condition of your connector links, whether metal or soft, should be a part of every pack job. If you have metal links a small dab of fingernail polish (pink is good ) on the barrel will let you know at a glance if the links are coming loose. I've never heard of a metal link failing if it was properly tightened (I could be wrong on that though); I think having both metal and soft would be kind of overkill.pull and flare, lisa

Both slinks and metal links will fail if they are not put on correctly. The problem you describe can happen when the barrel loosens all the way and the lines load the link oddly. A slink that's not installed correctly (and I've seen them installed incorrectly) will fail just as readily.-bill von
