gus 1 #1 March 11, 2002 According to ParaGear, my Spectre 135 has a pack volume of 354 and a Safire 119 is 342. Now, that doesn't sound like a huge difference (ie I could sneak a new safire in my current container ) but the question is how reliable is that comparison?Gus"Sex? Once every six seconds. Skydiving? Five times, every six seconds."
TALONSKY 0 #2 March 11, 2002 Something that I found interesting is that the pack volume info for Icarus Safires (atleast) are different in the owners manual than at Paragear or Square one. The owner’s manual says a Safire 119 is 255. You can down load the manual yourself at Icarus web site. Also you should be aware that a Safire 119 is atleast 7% smaller than stated. For more info on either subject just contact Icarus, I found them easy to talk to and got great advise from themBlue SkiesKirk
billvon 3,116 #3 March 11, 2002 After years of trying to shoehorn different mains into different containers, I've found that canopy manufacturer's numbers just aren't that useful. Go with either PIA numbers (Paragear uses them, mostly) or rig manufacturers numbers.-bill von
