skydive4play 0 #1 March 10, 2002 Two part question here: (1) Do i really need a exstention on my bridle ie. 170 Hornet if that matters and (2) To my understanding,,,, before rolling the canopy you are to pull the D bag along with the connector of the bridle to one side, and then roll the sucker up,,,,,,, My question is this,,, if you were to do that when the main was deployed from the D bag with the pilot chute pulling it from the side (even thought the bridle connector as been placed in the center of the D bag, wouldn it cause the main to twist around before deploying?Lead Follow Or Get The Hell Out Of The Way!!!... Kirils 1 #2 March 10, 2002 I was told you really don't need an extension for the Psycho Pack to work. ( I know a number of people who have Psycho packed for years with no problem. I was told the reason you use one is to lower shear forces at the top of the canopy on extraction from the "D" bag., thus lowering excess stress and wear in the bridal attachment area. Extensions are free or cost acouple bucks from a rigger. Skydiving is not a static excercise with discrete predictability...
mountainman 0 #3 March 10, 2002 I haven't had to do anything special as far as bridle length for packing my canopy PSYCHO style.Yes, you need to pull the Dbag clear of the canopy before you start to roll it. When you get the roll done. Be sure to tug the bridle back to the middle of the canopy before stuffing it in the bag. It is just enough to get the center of the Dbag centered on the canopy so it is straight. No more, no less.Good luck! JumpinDuo.com...come and sign the guestbook. skymedic 0 #4 March 11, 2002 The reason I have a foot long extension on mine is due to wear on the top skin of the canopy on deployment...if you dont get one you can start to get holes....marcBSBD

TEB6363 0 #6 March 11, 2002 I just went and bought a "dog-bone" from the climbing shop. It is a 10-inch loop of tube nylon, called the super sling. For $3.60 I hope it will keep the ring in the center of the bag. And, yes, it is plenty strong to take the opening shock.:::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. Why are these "Extra" Lines Draping Down??, Damn!
