AiRpollUtiOn 0 #1 February 25, 2002 I've been jumping a falcon 175 for a while, and loved the openings. Now I've baught another rig, with a Sabre 170 (with a bag that would perfectly fit for a 135).This Sabre seems to have a problem with me having a healthy spine! My packing is good, but I think getting the chute in the bag causes occasional slammer- openings from hellI've heard about the Psycho-packing method, and I think this could solve my problem.Does anyone have experience with this method?I'd love to get some comments, hints, ...Thxzzzz in advance Will jump for beer, bs AiRpollUtiOn
Geoff 0 #2 February 25, 2002 Packing technique may help some, but a Sabre will probably still slam you from time to time. I recommend you get a bigger slider or a pocket slider - talk to PD or a rigger for details.Geoff
Hooknswoop 19 #3 February 25, 2002 You can talk to PD, but they will bore you for about 10 minutes talking about rubber bands, line bite size, body position, and then tell you the Sabre doesn't open hard. Have a rigger put a pocket on the slider.Hook
rendezvous 0 #4 February 25, 2002 Whats a pocket slider ?
SkydiveMonkey 0 #5 February 25, 2002 There's an additional bit of material sewn onto the bottom of the slider (closed on 3 sides) in order to catch more air. You shouldn't put a knife in the toaster - but you're an adult now !!!
TEB6363 0 #6 February 25, 2002 I psyco-packed my Monarch this weekend as suggested by Precision. For the Monarch Precision suggests rolling the nose into the center cell. Precision notes that you can just leave the nose in the center on other canopies and fold than roll the tail.It opened great, nice snivel, soft opening, one pump to get the end cells open.:::OK, Canopy is Open, No Traffic Around, .. Why are these "Extra" Lines Draping Down??, Damn!
AiRpollUtiOn 0 #7 February 27, 2002 Has anyone experienced softer openings while psycho-packing the when pro-packed???That was what I was looking for... Will jump for beer, bs AiRpollUtiOn
skymedic 0 #8 February 27, 2002 Much softer on a psycho pack....marcBSBD
cloud9 0 #9 February 27, 2002 I found that psycho packing was faster, easier, and I got better openings. I won't go back to the standard propack.
BadDog 0 #10 February 27, 2002 I started psycho packing my Triathlon and I get the nicest, slowest, softest, sweetest openings every time. I'll never go back either.CorporateLawyerDave aka BadDog
