Canuck 0 #1 February 22, 2002 Hey Chuck. In the swooping forum you made a comment about Cobalt 105's which led me to believe they perhaps don't open and/or fly as nicely as Cobalts of other sizes. Your quote was "Get a Cobalt...anything but a 105 and you will have butter openings, long swoops..." What's up with that?Canuck
SkymonkeyONE 4 #2 February 24, 2002 Not sure why, but every single bitch I have heard of in the field has come from people with 105's snapping them. I can't say what the problem is, because I seriously don't know, I am not an engineer, only a factory pilot. Actually, every problem I have heard of was rectified with either a slider change or a slight trim change. Only that size. I have buddies who have never had a problem with that size, but others who have. That was the basis for my comment. My webpage HERE
Geoff 0 #3 February 24, 2002 By 'snapping', you mean hard openings? I'm VERY interested because I have Cobalt 105, but I'm very happy with all aspects of it so far (only 25 jumps or so).thanksGeoff
SkymonkeyONE 4 #4 February 24, 2002 There you have it. A satisfied 105 owner! I certainly didn't mean to imply that all Cobalt 105's opened hard, it's just that is the only gripe I had heard in the last year on the road. I think it's a perfectly sized parachute for someone downsizing from any other brand's 135, but thats just my opinion. I just hated hearing from one of my best friends every day that the openings were killing him. Yes, I meant "hard". My webpage HERE
