khtov 0 #1 February 13, 2002 Looking at PA XAOS-21 and at PD Velocity from the front I noticed that upper surface of Velocity is smoother than of XAOS.What I mean is if you take one section betw. 2 loaded ribs it is divided into 3 chambers by 2 non-loaded ribs and there are crossbracing ribs coming from the bottom of loaded ribs, where suspension lines are attached, to the upper surface and to the nearest non loaded rib. The thing is that the upper surface attached to the top of all ribs on XAOS-21 seems to pop up more betw. loaded rib and non loaded rib on and less betw 2 non-loaded ribs, while on Velocity they curve evenly.I understand this is a design difference, but does it mean that Velocity has more even surface and thus giving better performance than XAOS or does it mean that the straight portion of the section on XAOS works as a real wing giving benefits of wing without vertical distorsion? For you to understand me easier I attach the pics of Velocity and XAOS.AndrewAndrewP.S. It is bounce that hurts, so grab the grass .....
alan 1 #2 February 13, 2002 I think the angles from which the pictures have been taken have influenced your perception of the span-wise distortion of the wings in question. I'm not saying you are wrong, just that the photos are not apples to apples and therefore may give the wrong impression.alan
