Phil 0 #1 January 16, 2002 I'm looking for some input from skydivers that have jumped the sabre2 and their experience with it. There isn't much in the Gear section so maybe I have more luck here....is there anybody out there?...blue onesPhil
wildblue 7 #2 January 16, 2002 What do you want to know? It pretty much lived up to the hype.Little zippier than the original SabreLighter toggle pressureSlightly lighter front riser pressureGood flare power throughout the landingSeems to hold built-up speed a lot better. I notice I seem to scream across the ground a lot faster than my old sabreBeautiful openings. No more rolling the crap out of the nose/tail, pocket sliders, whatever.. just stuff it in the bag and have a sweet, soft opening.I ain't happy, I'm feeling gladI got sunshine, in a bag

Slowfaller 0 #4 January 17, 2002 I've put about 20-25 jumps on a Sabre2 150 at 1.1:1. I love the it, ESPECIALLY the landings. I was on a Safire and the Sabre2 lands so much better that the Safire. I feel like I'm flying the canopy instead of just flairing it. I have never had problems w/ the end cells closing on me but the last 5 or so jumps I did I had about an 180 degree off heading opening each time. It wasn't the same Sabre2 (rental gear) and I didn't pack it so there is nobody to blame (packer, canopy or poor body position). I was going to buy a Sabre2 until I heard about the Hornet, which is in my rig right now. Haven't jumped my Hornet yet.CHris
wildblue 7 #5 January 17, 2002 Quoteany problem with the outside cell not inflating?Nerp.Maybe happened once or twice, but I wouldn't call that a problem. Now this other canopy (from a different manufacture) I demo'd for awhile, I had closed end cells on 9 out of 10 openings!I ain't happy, I'm feeling gladI got sunshine, in a bag
E150 0 #6 January 18, 2002 I was lucky enough to jump a Sabre2 150 about 10 times recently (thenks Michael). Its a totaly different canopy form the old Sabre. Its is apparently cut differently, flatter, to give it more glide. I have to say that I really liked it. The openings were lovely and the landings superb. It had a very responsive flare (poped me back up the first time). I'm just hoping I like my Electra 150 as much when I finally get to jump it.
Aviatrr 0 #7 January 18, 2002 Quote I'm looking for some input from skydivers that have jumped the sabre2 and their experience with it. There isn't much in the Gear section so maybe I have more luck here. I've got about 75 jumps on my Sabre2, loaded at about 1.5:1, and I love the thing.. Very forgiving canopy, yet it will really perform when you want it to.. Awesome openings, lots of lift on landing.. If you do a forum search, you'll find lots of opinions on the Sabre2.. I have not jumped one at a lighter loading than about 1.5, but I have never had an end cell closure..Mike
