philhartree 0 #1 December 11, 2001 6 months in the UK:Are those dates also recognised abroad - specifically France and theUS? I heard that they only recognise the first 4 months from the start of the UK repack date.---If you have to ask, you don't understand
sangiro 26 #2 December 11, 2001 If you want to jump in the US your reserve will need to have been packed in the past 120 days (4 months). Not sure about France.Safe swoopsSangiro
PhreeZone 20 #3 December 11, 2001 Check the latest FAR's (mid summers revision) but I thought as long as a Foriegn jumper (to the US) is jumping foriegn gear they are allowed to be within thier home country's repack cycle limit. This was one of the things the USPA was pushing with the FAA.But the Best thing that you could do is call the Dropzone that you are planning on going to and asking them directly about it.I want to touch the sky, I want to fly so high ~ Sonique
RemiAndKaren 0 #4 December 11, 2001 France and Spain: I dont know what their repack cyle is, but they recognize the UK one for UK jumpers. But call first as you never know if a DZ will be anal about this or that....RemiMuff
Spectrejumper 0 #5 December 13, 2001 As long as you're within the repack cycle of your home country you're ok to jump in the US. FAR Section 105.49 Foreign Parachutists and Equiptment. We have a lot of Canadian jumpers at my DZ, so we checked this out quite a while ago.Mike D-23312"It's such a shame to spend your time away like this...existing."
