TheMarshMan1 0 #1 December 1, 2001 Is the size of the container based more on height or weight? I'm looking at a used rig, and it says fits someone from 5'8 - 6'2 and 175 - 215 pounds or something like that. I'm 6'1, but less than 175 (tall and skinny), so I'm just wondering if that would be too big, or would it be OK because I'm tall? Any help would be great, thanks!!!-Marshall
PhreeZone 20 #2 December 1, 2001 Harnesses have three main sizes.Main lift web length. This is the length of the harness across your torso.Yoke. This is the width of the sholders from each other.Laterals. This is the distance the containter sits from the harness. The laterals are the piece of webbing connecting the bottom of the container to the mainlift web and to the leg straps. What I'd suggest you do is call the maker of the container and see what size they think would fit you based on rough body measurements. Then armed with that information you can determine if you want to try and squeeze your "C19" (Javelin, C yoke, 19 inch MLF) body into a "C16" harness. And based on experience, that combo is a tight fit and you won't be able to arch.I'm not sure what to put here right now.....
skybytch 273 #3 December 1, 2001 That harness might fit you depending on how long your legs are (inseam measurement - usually crotch to floor). If you can find out the height, weight and inseam of the person the container was originally built for you can compare that to your measurements and get a pretty good idea of if it will fit or not. Example - you're 6'1" and say 160 lbs, 36" inseam. That rig might fit you well if it was built for someone 5'10" with a 32-34" inseam and around the same body weight. If it was built for someone 6'0", 200 with a 35" inseam it might be a bit too big - that extra 40 pounds would probably mean a bit longer main lift web. You can pm me if you have any questions on that - it can be confusing pull and flare, lisa

Albatross 0 #5 December 2, 2001 I will tell you that I am 6'1" and about 170lbs with a 32 in inseam and I have a C17 javelin J-3 and it fits well. Some containers like the WIngs that come in 17.5 in also fit well.God bless us and God Bless AmericaAlbatross
Watcher 0 #6 December 2, 2001 I dont know what my inseam is (ive only worn long pants 2 or 3 times in the last 12 years) but im 6'0 maybe a little shy and my weight can flucate from 155 - 175 depending on what i eat that week, but i have that a guy at Jump shack called the soccer play build where i have a very long torso, so for me i found C17 harness much too small, but found the C18 fit perfectly (ive had 2 18s, the Jav fits better than the mirage). Just as a comparison in the 6'0'' rangeJonathan
